Fifth graders branched out of their normal day-to-day studies and partnered up for some ballroom dancing lessons. The first obstacle was getting used to touching a boy and the second was learning to follow a beat and lastly adding dance steps and routines to the rhythms. The end results was an amazing group of fifth graders who learned to salsa, two-step, tango, cha cha, waltz and swing. They didn't just learn the basic steps either. They learned how to properly enter, they learned complete routines and they learned manners and etiquette.
For Kaylee, ballroom dancing was the reason she woke up every morning. She "cha cha"ed and "tango"ed her way everywhere she went. I could here her coming by the rhythm of her step.
Her partner Holden is a sweet boy and through the lessons they became very good friends. Just friends. But very good friends.
Here they are doing the waltz.
