Easter

Easter was fairly low-key after a week of non-stop play with the cousins. We are fortunate to have wonderful neighbors who braved a block Easter party on Saturday despite the pouring rain. After a few pop-ups were set up the party continued minus some relay races.Though the rain didn't prevent us from holding the egg hunt. Trent was truly in heaven stomping and splashing in every puddle and surprised at each successive egg- that was before he realized they were full of candy inside! Had he known that, I think he would have stopped after the first one to feast. When our baskets and hearts were full we returned home to our separate houses.

Our next-door neighbor is a third Grandma to our family and not having any children of her own, spoils mine every birthday and holiday. After church on Sunday, we stopped over to her house where she had hidden a basket in her backyard for each child. We snapped this photo on our way over to her backyard hunt.

Tyler age 7, Kaylee age 9, Megan age 5, Trent age 2
Every time I look at pictures of all four of them together I get choked up because I realize I am living my dream- raising these beautiful personalities as they develop and grow. When I stop long enough to pause, I am deeply thankful.
The remainder of the day for us was a time to ponder and reflect while snacking on Easter goodies. Greg and I even managed a nap- a rare treat!
